Metroplex Facade Program Supports Restoration Work at 108 Union Street in Stockade

Schenectady, N.Y., November 28, 2012 — The Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority announced today that it will provide a $40,000 façade grant toward the $130,000 cost of upgrading the façade at 108 Union Street in the historic Stockade District in downtown Schenectady.

“This is an important building in Schenectady and we are pleased to play a part in its renovation,” said Metroplex Chair Ray Gillen.

The building at 108 Union Street was built in 1831 and was used for many years as a County Courthouse.

Special Thanks to Ray Gillen and the Schenectady Metroplex for your continued support!

The dream comes into a clearer vision and then reality through the good works of many.  I have been dreaming and talking about 108 union for about the past 10 years and the time is now!  The hope for our Vision and Advisory Collaboration on December 5th is to bring together the critical mass of interest in order to bring this into reality!

108 Union will be a creative healing space where everything is all good -  when you walk though the door there is a good feeling and you just know that here and now you can be in the space of well-being –

Services will include healing arts such as massage, energy work, reiki, yoga, art, nutrition and sound.

There are wonderful spaces for art openings, events, concerts, kirtans,  classes and even the development of micro-enterprises – we support self-compassion and empowerment for individuals as well as the community

Come in for a cup of tea, a quiet space to unwind, meet friends, enjoy healthy local foods, a class, a massage, a float, something to eat, flowers or gifts, or any combination of the above.

We would love to hear how you might like to participate.

Please feel free to respond with your own appreciations.  At this moment I am grateful for the sweet efforts of Samantha Pooler who is bringing this webpage to life.  I am grateful for the ever present patience and understanding of Steven Kowalski, for my Mom and Dad and their belief in my abilities as a human being. For Connor who is a constant wonder and delight, that my sister Kate will be coming from Maryland for the Open House on December 5th.  I am also ever grateful for my sister on the path, Lis Rolfe-Albright who is a manifestation of all that is beautiful in the world, and for the fact that I am happily employed for the time being.  I could go on and on, for life is very good and there are so many teachers and sojourners who also share in the love of this journey….
