31 Days for Change is a grassroots Wisdom Initiative fostered by an independent coalition of interested individuals.  The idea is to create clusters of awareness over a particular period of time where individuals can share their talents and efforts to create community that recognizes the value of mindful being.  In a way we seek to create a more just society that realizes the value of love and beauty in our lives – to develop an appreciation for the interconnectedness of beings – human and otherwise along with the Earth which fosters our lives.

The Northeast Energy AmeriCorps program aims to make a significant difference in how community members understand and consume energy.  The plan is to provide extensive community outreach at large and specifically in the Hamilton Hill neighborhood.  We plan to hit the streets to create a green zone awareness, host at least 20 community presentations and workshops,  help 100 homeowners and renters choose and complete applications for funding and incentives, help 30 households to receive home assessments and actually weatherize their homes.

As part of the Community  Outreach we hope to weatherize the YWCA gym – Education is key and members can play a large part in designing and delivering the benefits of conscious energy consumption.
